--- Network Administrator Specific responsibilities: This position provides operational ground support for mission critical systems. Supports mission operations through monitoring of system performance and developing documented work-around procedures to achieve full or partial restoration of operational capability, in accordance with established plans, procedures, and tools. Troubleshoots routing and network configuration errors. Designs and integrates new networks into existing infrastructure. Designs and implements upgrades and consolidations to existing network infrastructure. Designs and troubleshoots new cable plant installations (and assists with installation when necessary.) Develops and maintains accurate network diagrams. Coordinates planned installations with project change manager. Provides maintenance and repair of infrastructure cabling. Responsible for monitoring network activity and troubleshooting network outages. Executes system and configuration backup and disaster recovery plans and procedures. Maintains and updates equipment inventory, documentation and operating procedures.
Required Skills: Experience with recent versions of Cisco IOS Experience with implementing and troubleshooting BGP (creating and debugging prefix lists) in both WAN and LAN environments Experience with implementing and troubleshooting OSPF Experience with implementing and troubleshooting access lists Experience with implementing and troubleshooting NAT Familiarity with Windows Server 2003 and XP (ability to log in, get IP address configuration, etc.) Familiarity with Solaris 8, 9, or 10 (ability to log in, get IP address configuration, etc.) Experience with scientific root-cause error analysis and troubleshooting
Preferred skills: Experience with JunOS Familiarity with AIX (ability to log in, get IP address configuration, etc.) 6 years experience with Cisco IOS, or 4 plus a CCNA Experience performing network hardware backups Familiarity with ITIL V3 Familiarity with TACACS
