Network Analyst I
Purpose:
Work with a team that assures the availability and efficient operation of the NFA network and its related computer system software and hardware.
Duties:
Provide support for NFA’s networking and/or communications environments. Install, customize and maintain core technologies (Microsoft software, Cisco network devices, HP servers/printers) and any related 3rd party hardware/software.
Implement new software releases, preventative maintenance and problem fixes (e.g. service packs, patches, bios upgrades).
Consult with users to analyze their needs and determine hardware and software functional specifications.
Maintain data backup and recovery procedures. Participate in disaster recovery tests.
Adhere to appropriate security practices and procedures.
Follow all change management requirements.
Generate and analyze reports depicting network/system performance and usage.
Resolve network/system related problems via logs and error messages. Work with vendors to take corrective action.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation. Thoroughly detail all tasks and procedures.
Evaluate new technology and products.
Provide technical support to NFA staff as required.
Support Help Desk operations.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
One to two years working experience in data/voice networking environments or a college degree (i.e. B.A. Information Systems Management or B.S. Computer Science). Experience installing, customizing and maintaining HP, Cisco, Microsoft, and/or Linux-based technologies is required. Industry recognized certification (Network+, A+, CCNA, MCSE etc.) a plus. The position requires a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products. All candidates must possess strong oral and written communication skills, be highly motivated, detail oriented, analytically adept, creative, able to multi-task and be able to work independently or as part of a team. Candidates must also be highly dependable, punctual and willing to work off hours if warranted.
