Business Title Network and NetSec Engineer - NOC Requisition No. 58372BR Category Tech - IT / Operations Subsidiary eBay Position Area US - California - San Jose Position Location San Jose California Shift Varies Shift Details 6am-6pm NOC shift, 25% cover 6pm-6am following NOC shift Primary Job Responsibilities As a day shift Network and Network Security Engineer on the Network Support team you will be working in our NOC and be responsible for monitoring and support of a large multi-data center network as well as a global corporate network with dozens of locations. A major component of the job will be monitoring and maintaining network and network security equipment, WAN circuit troubleshooting, and handling proactive and reactive outages directly and by working with our vendors. Additionally you will be resolving network service requests along with troubleshooting performance issues with other groups. Other job responsibilities include monitoring network security equipment, managing network capacity, deploying equipment, implementing process improvements, administering network management systems or developing and maintaining network automation tools. This position will also fill-in for a night shift (6pm-6am following) when scheduling requires it. Job Requirements
* Experience with BGP or OSPF routing in multi-gigabyte environment.
* Desire to troubleshoot & find root cause in network and network security issues.
* In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, packet capture, and analysis.
* Excellent communication and documentation skills.
