Job Description: Safety and Security is one of Cisco's key Market Adjacencies being incubated by the Emerging Solutions Council. Cisco's Physical Safety and Security (SAS) Solutions Practice is the team at Cisco chartered to sell and deliver industry leading and transformational SAS solutions to Cisco Customers.
The Network Consulting Engineer's (NCE) role in the SAS Solutions practice is primarily focused on solution delivery, providing consulting, design, and implementation support to Cisco customers and partners.
The NCE will primarily focus on SAS solution delivery in the US and Canada, but will also support other regions on an as-needed basis.
Job Role: Responsible for planning, design, implementation, operation and optimization (PDIOO) of Safety and Security solutions utilising multiple technologies and multiple Cisco and partner products.
This may include remote or on-site assessments, solution design, implementation planning, deployment support, software strategy, performance engineering and optimization, knowledge transfer and mentoring, proof-of-concept testing, pre-staging and pre-configuration, potentially acting as a project manager as required.
. Lead design workshops . Build simulated solutions in test labs to resolve highly complex problems and compatibility issues . Introduce new ways of working . Demonstrate Cisco products and solutions to customers . Provide consulting expertise and technical guidance to customers and internal parties as required . Collaborate proactively with other NCE's to ensure optimal use of resources to meet project and customer needs . Supervise and mentor Partner delivery teams and less experience engineers. . Drive and participate in Cisco internal initiatives across virtual teams . Produce reusable Intellectual collateral, share and re-use stored collateral and leading practices documentation . Contribute and participate in forums that focus on thought leadership e.g. Cisco Networkers, User Groups, Business Unit feedback forums . Lead and execute on projects that are strategic, of high visibility, and involve complex emerging technologies and solutions integration. . Represent Cisco Advanced Services in providing leadership and direction on solutions that maximize the business benefits to the customer . Work extensively with customers, Account Teams, partners and Cisco resources on developing a strategy and the deployment of most complex services
Skills and Capabilities: Technical Knowledge: Expertise in multiple Safety and Security technology domains (e.g. Video Surveillance, Video Analytics, Command & Control applications, Physical Access Control, Radio Interoperability, Emergency communication & collaboration, Computer Aided Dispatch, etc...).
Demonstrated Problem Solving Ability: Applies raw analytical power to solving new problems within broadly defined constraints. Exercises judgment in obtaining results, utilising the support of other Cisco Subject Matter Experts when needed.
Solves most assigned problems and some cross-organization problems independently, using professional knowledge, sound judgment and Cisco policy and procedure. Clearly applies creativity in tackling complex issues to create effective and lasting solutions content. Understands the business impacts of problems and their solutions
Exceptional Communication Skills: Above average presentation skills. Strong written\oral skills and Customer orientated.
Ability to influence at senior levels in Cisco and customer organizations and able to present and sell to Customers the value of Advanced Services.

Education and Experience: Requires a technical or business undergraduate degree (or equivalent). Essential . Requires minimum 5years designing and implementing Safety and Security solutions for large customers. . Experience of deploying Video Management systems eg Cisco, Axis, Milestone, or similar . Experience with IP Cameras, eg Pelco, Cisco, Bosch, Sony, Axis, Panasonic, or similar . Experience with video encoders Desirable . Preferred experience designing and implementing IP-based Safety and Security solutions . Understanding of applicable legal and regulatory requirements that impact safety and security solutions . Experience of PSIM solutions, eg CNL, VidSys, Proximex or similar . Physical access control solutions, such Cisco Physical Access Manager or similar . Cisco IPICS . Radio systems . Cisco unified communication or other voice over IP systems . Video analytic solutions eg Objectvideo, Vidient, AgentVi, or similar . Cisco CCNA certification
