Job Title: Network Design Engineer Job Code: HITS08111072 Job Description: * Performs a full range of network designs encompassing multiple technologies within a single network * Evaluates new network technologies and makes recommendations to project managers regarding the integration of these technologies into the existing * Installs, configures, and supports an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), customer networks, Intranet and Internet and other data communications systems or a segment of a network system. * Ensures that adequate and appropriate planning is provided for hardware and communications facilities to develop and implement methodologies for analysis, installation and support of voice communications systems * Provides support in the translation of business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, MAN, WAN, Voice, and Video) requirements, designs and orders. * The overarching security requirements for the customer network add to the complexity of these positions Qualifications: * Bachelors degree (or the equivalent) in a related technical field plus a minimum of 6 years experience in network design * Experience writing scripts * Experience with CCNP and CCNA Preferred Additional Skills: * Experience recommending and implementing network policies and procedures and ensuring adherence to security policies * Experience with any of the following: Vitalsuite, OPNET, HAIPE, HP OpenView, HPNA, Chariot test tool, Wireshark network protcol analyzer, Observer troubleshooting and performance management tool This position requires the candidate to possess an active In-Scope SSBI granted at the TS/SCI level with poly.
