Job Description: Maintains and Troubleshoots services such as LANs, WANs, Voice Systems, DNS Systems, Load Balancing Systems, and Security Systems. Ensures that best in class services are provided to the end users and that procedures are standardized and aligned with industry best practice and the IT Information Library ITIL framework through local IT teams or 3rd party service providers. Works within the Service Management guidelines for incident, problem, and change management. May have any of the following responsibilities: identifies and resolves complex network problems utilizing structured troubleshooting methods, techniques and tools; monitors systems operations, analyzes problems or malfunctions, takes corrective action, and coordinates corrective actions with system engineering or vendors; provides technical support and training for a large complex infrastructure and services and all its components including installation, moves, monitoring server performance and capacity, and maintenance and trouble shooting of hardware and software problems. Work is completed with minimal direction and reviewed by senior management. Provides solutions to a diverse range of complex problems. Typically requires 5 - 8 years of experience and a Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience. Requirements/Skills: Experience with Avaya Communication Manager voice systems, Avaya phones, and basic LAN troubleshooting skills. Preferred experience with Avaya data network equipment formerly Nortel . The description is sufficiently obscure, but what we are after is a local voice network and data network engineer. They will support the PBX and LAN systems at the site, as well as systems remotely. They need to know Avaya voice equipment, as well as LAN support. In addition, we want to make sure candidates are screened carefully for this one - we want someone very professional at that site.
