Here at WakeMed, the Network Engineer II is an intermediate level network engineer position with responsibility for maintenance & support of the LAN/WAN, Optical and wireless network. The Network Engineer II must demonstrate competence in L2 and L3 switching & routing, and possess strong analytical skills for troubleshooting large TCP/IP networks. This position requires previous hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting Nortel/Avaya/Cisco routers and switches. This position also requires competence with wireless network concepts, security concepts, network management, and remote access systems. This position will serve as the primary network support engineer for the Phillips Visicu eICU system. Previous experience with Phillips eICU and TCP/IP based A/V systems will receive greater consideration. Design experience and experience in an acute care medical facility is a plus.
Experience Requirements :
Two years experience in support and troubleshooting large TCP/IP networks required. Healthcare experience preferred.
Education Requirements :
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required typically acquired within 7-10 years on the job.
