Network Engineer
Synopsis:
These positions are for Tier 2 associates in the AT&T Enterprise Management Center (EMC). The AGSEMC is responsible for the monitoring and management of the a customer network and is manned 24x7x365. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager; hours are flexible (three tours) and are determined by the needs of the team. Off tours may be required. The associate's responsibilities include:
* Serving as primary support of Network Operations by managing customer devices, identifying sources of problems, and resolving configuration issues
*Engaging equipment and service vendors which support network operations
*Directly interfacing with clients; responding to client requests, and notifying clients of network problems and business impacts
* Directing interfacing with various internal AT&T groups to resolve clients network and security issues.
* Understanding and reviewing action plans for planned and unplanned changes to client's network/infrastructure
* Performing root cause analysis, complex implementations and network configurations
* Handling performance monitoring and management, interpretation and reporting
The successful candidate should possess advanced troubleshooting/problem determination skills with Cisco products, routing protocols, knowledge of transport and circuit troubleshooting. Familiarity with satellite operations or network security concepts is a plus. The determination to increase skills to meet changing customer requirements; and possess a BSCS/EE degree or equivalent or 7 years diversified WAN experience desired. In addition, the candidate should possess or desire to achieve certifications such as CCNA or CCNP.
Candidate for this position should be able to work independently and with peers, customers, and supplier teams; to prioritize numerous deliverables on multiple projects; interface directly with all levels of management; and to develop and schedule reports through multiple InfoServers using custom databases. Must be willing to submit and successfully complete Government Agency Clearance request. Work location is Oakton, VA; no virtual office or relocation available.
Applicants must be US Citizens and eligible to obtain a Secret clearance. Current openings are 4 x10 on Monday-Friday on both the Swing and Mid shift or 3 x 12 Days or Mids Friday-Sunday.
