Network Operations Technician

RESPONSIBILITIES: · Serves as a Network Operations Technician and performs a wide range of activities related to voice and data networking and monitoring. Coach and train technicians on how to program, install and support networked equipment · Employs technical knowledge and experience in installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining VoIP and traditional PBX equipment · Facilitate problem resolution with internal and external teams · Must be self-motivated and work in a team-based environment · Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality service · Tracks progress to ensure commitments and deadlines are met
SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Education: One year of college or technical school in IT related studies preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2 years experience with Mitel Certification, Platforms SX2000, 3300 ICP, Enterprise Manager, NuPoint Messenger IP640, Teleworker, CCM6110 and Call Accounting. Experience in IT based setting dealing with telecommunications hardware and software. Experience with networking cable infrastructure and comm./data MDF and IDF.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: The successful candidate will need to have recent and relevant knowledge and experience demonstrating the following capabilities and/or qualities: § Strong working knowledge of corporate networked environment § Must be proficient in problem resolution, policy development, and documentation process and standard workflows § Excellent verbal and written communication skills § Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, including non-technical executives and employees § Strong problem solving and analytical skills § Ability to interpret technical material in books, manuals, technical diagrams and follow procedures § Knowledge of Cisco hardware and software § Basic knowledge of computer PC systems, networking equipment and peripherals § Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems. § Ability to life 40 lbs. from floor to waist height.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: 7:30 a.m. ‑ 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
