Daily Responsibilities: SRA has been contracted to implement Trusted Internet Connections (TIC) for a large Federal agency. SRA will be standing up three TIC facilities, consolidating external network connections from various agencies to these TIC facilities.
The successful candidate needs to be well-suited for organizing, executing, and implementing complex network projects, interacting with high-level government personnel, and directly gathering data to support project requirements. In other words, a motivated, self-starter is a critical element to this position.
The successful candidate will provide hands-on oversight and management for the technical and functional activities. The PM assures the efficient application of centralized administrative, teaming, and other related functions necessary to provide management of a complex one year IT project. The PM is the primary manager responsible for daily scheduled reporting and interfacing with the client. The candidate will assist with establishing and/or deploying a common set of project management processes and templates. The candidate will facilitate project team communications by having common process, deliverables and terminologies. The successful project manager will provide leadership and planning strategy with the client as they coordinate functions and responsibilities within the Government agency. The candidate should be able to track basic information on the current status of the project in the organization and provide project visibility to management in a common and consistent manner.
The PM will also provide guidance and oversight for three network engineers and a technical writer for this project.
Required: Years of experience:(min) 6-9 Required: Degree Bachelors Required: Basic Qualifications .Significant knowledge of network and telecommunications technologies, terms, and design concepts .Hands on experience with managing IT network projects from conceptual design to operational support. .Experience developing and using Work Breakdown Structures and Work Packages (Microsoft Office Project). .Familiarity with integrated project schedules and critical path management. .Experience in customer interfacing meetings to collect IT requirements, present schedules at technical and construction meetings .General knowledge of Information Technology standards and best practices in a service delivery environment. .Experience managing senior engineers and architects. .Familiarity with PMBOK best practices Required: Travel 0 - 10% Desired: Skills PMI Certification CCNA, CCNP
