Job Description
Perform as a member of a team that will be responsible for the automated deployment of Host Based Security System (HBSS) to Legacy and Excepted Naval Networks throughout the U.S.
- Work independently at predetermined Navy sites and communicate with a Network Operation Center (NOC) Engineer to ensure end-to-end connectivity (clear path) to the end-user workstation from the HBSS ePolicy Orchestrator (EPO) server. - Ensure successful delivery/installation of HBSS to all End User Devices (EUDs) (Microsoft workstations only to include various Windows 32-bit operating systems XP and above) in that network and all stub networks, behind site premise, in accordance with (IAW) the project plan. - Work with site IT staff to deploy HBSS through Active Directory or another approved method IAW the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). - Investigate problems associated with deployment of HBSS software to EUDs to ensure successful delivery. - Assist the NOC Engineer (ePO Engineer) in resolving issues with establishing a clear data path to the EUDs. Clear path includes ensuring proper ports and protocols are open on NOC, site firewalls, and router access lists, as established in the SOP.
Degree/Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology/Systems (or computer related) desired but not required DoD 8570.01M Technical Level III Certifification (i.e. CISSP, CISA, etc...),
Required Skills
- Active Secret clearance. - At least two (2) years of specialized experience at a level close to the work of this job that has given him/her the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform. - Have the skills necessary to work independently. - At least four (4) years of experience working with Active Directory and have a through understanding of Active Directory. - At least four (4) years experience in pushing out software through Active Directory, SMS, and Tivoli. - Thorough understanding of computer networking, especially troubleshooting network connectivity issues. - Understand subnetting, IP ports and protocols, and router access lists both named and numbered, in order to establish clear path from the ePO to the site EUDs. - Understand how to use and properly configure HBSS to ensure success when following the HBSS deployment plan. - Able to perform: - Analysis of the interrelationships of pertinent components of the system. - Plan the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment. - Personal responsibility for at least a segment of the overall project.
