Job description IBM Network Services Competency, as part of On-Demand Infrastructure Services, provides delivery capability for network outsourcing services. Network Services competency provides implementation, administration, support and capacity planning, for IBM and commercial network environments.
<b>Duties and Responsibilities</b>
* Network Tools application implementation and BAU Support.
* Daily checks on systems reports to review any anomalies as instructed by Reporting team leader.
* Develop, implement and maintain processes and procedures as required for the Network Operations Group.
* Manage and administration of the NS reporting systems on a day to day basis.
* High awareness of individual customer service levels when dealing with problems or service requests e.g. individual reporting run etc
* Liaise with other technical areas where necessary to ensure customer reported problems are resolved to the customer satisfaction.
* Callout services to third parties as required - Hardware/Software Vendors etc.
* Adhere to audit compliances strategies to ensure security and business processes as part of BAU activities.
* Must have proven experiences with some programming languages, basic database as well as networking knowledge.
<b>Desired Experience</b>
* Networking knowledge or experience in WAN/ LAN, TCP/IP, network Firewall and Network Management software.
* Programming skills in Java, J2EE, Perl scripting, with basic database knowledge an advantage in SQL, MySQL and DB2.
* Understanding and knowledge of Web servers and portals.
* Understanding and knowledge of Windows Server and Linux systems.
* Team relationship skills.

* High degree of analytical ability and creativity in resolving problems and provide feedback for improvements
