Specific Job Description The candidate will be a Network Support Specialist tasked to maintain, support and troubleshoot all customer computer networks and systems of various classifications levels to include: Sensitive-but-unclassified (SBU), Secret, Top Secret, SCI, Special Access Program (SAP) and Special Access Required (SAR). The current enterprise contains over 12 separate network and telecommunications systems of all classification levels serving more than 315 users throughout the customer's organization.

Activities will include, but not be limited to, the following: Responsible for monitoring and controlling networks, hardware, and distributed software resources. Will respond to detected security incidents, network faults (errors), and user reported outages in a timely manner. Responsible for documenting, recording, and reporting all network incidents. Will maintain all infrastructure of the enterprise, modify switch, router, and hub configurations to ensure optimum network performance; configure and maintain Access Control Lists for authorized users; configure desktop; maintain DNS servers; maintain a working knowledge of the VPN; perform routine network troubleshooting of vendor specific VPN devices. Responsible for enterprise network management systems and providing necessary backups. Will develop and maintain a network back-up recovery plan.

Required to provide support on during normal business hours, 5 days a week basis during daily hours of operations from 0730-1700. "On-call" or extended support maybe required during emergency situations.
Standard Job Description Defines network communications and designs and implements solutions within existing network. Manages load configuration of central data communication processor and makes recommendations for upgrade of data networks. Evaluates and reports on new analog and digital communications technologies to enhance the capabilities of the data network. Provides problem resolution for all hardware and software elements of the data communication network and ensures the availability of the data network. Proposes solutions to management to provide all data communications requirements are based upon future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings. May coordinate network-oriented projects.

Typical Minimums Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.
