Job Description:
Network Systems Administrator II will be part of VSEA’s Data Center Server Team in the Infrastructure Systems department. The candidate should have a strong background in Systems Administration including SAN/backup systems, servers, networks, virtualization and application administration.
This position will require 5% international travel.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain all aspects of Microsoft servers in a Windows Active Directory environment in a 24x7x365 business environment
Act as technical lead in support of technology and data center facility projects
Provide and maintain documentation on systems, configurations, processes and IT standards
Provide resolution for service interruptions. Implement changes to the environment using the IT Change Control process
Work with IT Application, Network and Desktop teams to ensure IT Infrastructure requirements are met
Maintain and respond to system monitoring alerts
Recommend and evaluate software, hardware and system designs that meet business needs
Manage system backups and recovery
Responding to system outages after-hours will be required
Monitoring system status and responding to outages after-hours will be required
Infrequent, on-site after-hours support for the Data Center will be required
Support on-going DRP activity and annual DR testing
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field Minimum two years experience with SAN (preferably NetApp and Hitachi) Minimum three years experience with Windows Server 2003 Active Directory Minimum three years experience with Windows server technologies Minimum two years experience with VMWare ESX Server Citrix Metaframe Presentation and Xen Server Backup methodology experience (preferably Symantec NetBackup) Experience with server builds, OS installs and Microsoft WSUS/security patching Experience in a data center environment a plus Knowledge of fiber channel network technology a plus Experience working with Cisco network equipment a plus Basic LINUX administration a plus
FOUNDATION SKILLS: Excellent customer service and communication skills Excellent interpersonal and team skills Desire to learn new skills Ability to work in a high pressure environment
