Morningstar`s U.K. office is looking for a Network/Systems Administrator for our global Systems Administration team. Along with the Systems Admin Manager, you will be responsible for supporting our networks, firewalls, and servers (to the operating system level) globally within the organization. The Network/Systems Administrator will work on a shift-based schedule. This position is based in our London office. As the Network/Systems Administrator, you will support the company`s networked systems at on-site and off-site locations. You will configure and maintain company firewalls. You will help diagnose and resolve server/desktop problems and LAN/WAN problems. You will monitor network and server performance to identify potential problems and bottlenecks. The ideal candidate will be proactive, flexible, and creative with the ability to work in a demanding environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to interact with colleagues, clients, and suppliers. Candidates must have configured, installed, and maintained Cisco ASA firewalls (Version 7.0 or higher) within a production environment. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems is necessary, including Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server administration (2000/2003/2008 – Web/Standard/Enterprise), and Microsoft Exchange administration (2003/2007). Candidates must have in-depth understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and switching, as well as experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Cisco routers within a production environment. Extensive knowledge of VPNs, firewalls, and security issues is essential. A bachelor`s degree or the equivalent in a technical discipline with strong academic credentials is required.
