Title: Oracle Database Administrator - Top Secret Clearance required Location: VA: VIRGINIA-CHANTILLY This is a full-time position located in Chantilly, Virginia. Candidates should have an in depth understanding of ORACLE 10g database administration (6 years minimum), backup and recovery using RMAN, SQL & Pl/SQL scripting and programming, table and index partioning, and auditing. The potential candidate shouldbe adeptwith ORACLE system setup and database management, industry advanced replication techniques, data modeling, and database tuning. The individual should also have the ability to troubleshoot complex problems, task automation, and create and document standard operating procedures. Strong communication skills are required for problem resolution with customers, contractors, and vendors. An ACTIVE TOP SECRET security clearance is required. Individual MUST be willing to travel 10% of the year, some international travel possible. Must have worked previously in the DISA environment, be very familiar, or have experience working with the customer. Minimum 10 years of total work experience is required! ESSENTIAL SKILLSET: Extensive knowledge with ORACLE 8 and 10g * Backup and Recovery using RMAN, Veritas * Table and Index partitioning * SQL & PL/SQL ( recursive programming and scripting) * APEX APIs ( ei change passwords, manage user accounts) * Oracle OEM setup and database management * Advanced replication and Streams * Auditing (set up and monitoring) * Oracle Data Pump * Oracle networking ( listener, tnsnames,ora) * Database tuning (Performance, Maintenance) * Data Modeling UNIX (Solaris 8 and 10) * shell scripting * basic navigation of the file system * disk utilization * permissions
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred * Six or more years of experience in database design or maintenance * Experience working with computer hardware and software installation/upgrading procedures * Experience working with database and system maintenance procedures * Experience working with database creation techniques and database management systems (DBMS) features * Experience working with database performance tuning Other Qualifications * Good analytical and problem solving skills * Good programming skills for database management and general software * Good communication skills * Leadership skills to guide work teams * Ability to work in a team environment * Ability to anticipate problems and take decisive action * Willingness to travel
