Organization The Infrastructure Consulting Practice at Hewlett Packard works with our customers to effectively manage IT transformation across the business. The majority of consultants in our organization, as a part of Technology Consulting, specialize in specific infrastructure disciplines. These consultants will be assigned to and engage in projects at our customer sites across a wide variety of industry verticals including: Retail, Financial Services, Healthcare, Insurance and more. As part of our aggressive goals in 2010, we are looking for a Pursuit Technology Consultant to drive the growth of services. Below is a description of the responsibilites and qualifications for this position.
* Has a demonstrated track record providing larger Oracle, MS-SQL or MySQL Server based information systems design, planning and, migration, replatforming and implementation services for Fortune 1000 customers. * Hands on delivery and implementation experience with the latest Oracle, MS-SQL or MySQL Server technology and applies this to technical problem solving across multiple technologies. * Has 10 years of technology professional experience including 8 years in consulting team leadership and technical experience. * Provides advanced analysis to clearly define problem statements, identify options and sets solution direction. * Has advanced skills in requirements gathering, assessments, application and database cataloguing, project management, infrasture design and planning, problem solving, detailed application stack analysis, communication, scheduling and customer negotiation. * Works independently or as a team member under limited supervision on large sized engagements. * Coordinates Implementation of new installations, designs, consolidations and migrations for technology solutions in one of the following work domains: networks, applications or platforms. Required Skills
· Comprehensive understanding of the UNIX, Linux or Windows platform. · Comprehensive understanding of Oracle Database, MySQL, or MS-SQL Server architectures and environments · Oracle RDBMS 10g/11g RAC implementation experience (includes ASM, & ServiceGuard technologies, Veritas CFS) on 64-bit platforms including PA-RISC, x64, IA-64, on Proliant and Integrity servers. · SQL Server Clustering implementation experience on x64 or IA-64 platforms · High Availability Disaster Recovery on Windows, Linux or HP-UX platforms is strongly preferred · Database migration and consolidation/virtualization experience in moving and replatforming databases highly preferred. · Strong Consulting skills on Platform migrations, IT Consolidation, UNIX design and implementation, Oracle 10g RAC design and implementation. · Oracle or SQL Server DBA skills are strongly preferred. · Database replication using either Oracle Data Guard, or SQL Server Replication/log shipping, and/or with Oracle Streams, dynamic SQL scripting tools, and advanced solutions such as SharePlex/Goldengate technologies · Well developed oral and written communication skills · High level of creativity and innovation in problem solving · Strong team work and interpersonal skills · Can demonstrate skills of working with and managing suppliers and outsource providers · General understanding of virtualization in the Unix environment and grid technologies. · BS in computer science, engineering, computer engineering or related discipline · Has experience working in a global computing environment
