Spherion, in partnership with a dynamic Fortune 500 Technology industry powerhouse, is seeking an experienced PC Support Technician fortheir Latham, NY location for a 1 Year contract.
Basic Functions
Resolves desktop and software failures.
Performs onsite and offsite repair of personal computers, printers, scanners.
Provides personal computer software application support and troubleshooting.
Conducts end user training on personal computer applications and network systems.
Performs backup of user and system files essential to daily operations and disaster recovery.
Participates in network upgrades and system rollouts. Documents network/PC equipment moves and maintains an accurate database of the client owed network/PC.
Skills equivalent to 3-5 years in comparable position.
This position is temporary but is expected to be for around 3 months.
Candidate is expected to hit the ground running.
Candidate will take instructions from an IT Analyst already present in the office, and remotely from Supervisor or Manager.
Experience with Windows XP and/or Windows 7 essential. Experience with Windows Server 2003/2008 preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot, including remote users a must.
Must be able to work as part of a remote team.
Ability to work with a ticketing systems a must. Understanding or experience with cellphones, Active Directory, CRM preferred. Understanding of SOX compliance as it relates to user access preferred. Understanding/ability to support virtual desktops/servers preferred.
Must be able to work overtime at short notice.
Ability to travel (needs a car) preferred.

Finally, the employee generally works in an indoor office environment; overtime maybe required.
