Summary Description: The incumbent will become a member of the IT Services Sales, Realization, PS and Business Infrastructure team primarily responsible for administering the global PeopleSoft Human Resources application. In this role the incumbent will interact with the IT sponsor of the application and software engineers to maintain the production environment and the different development and testing environments and potentially, implementing new applications within the HR space. Specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for applying patches, maintenance packs, tax updates, administering applications/web servers, upgrading to newer releases, and occasionally participate in development efforts. This activity can span across non-PeopleSoft web and database environments. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting with the development of the strategic direction of the HR systems and developing the plans necessary to deliver on those strategies. The ability to work effectively in a team environment composed of peers and cross-technical members is very important as is the ability to be focused and a self-starter. Key Areas of Responsibility: . Establish, coordinate, and maintain application and web server environments for testing, production, training, and user demonstration. . Monitor and optimize the performance of the application and web servers and process schedulers. . Installation, upgrade, maintenance and support of all PeopleSoft application and batch servers, web servers, and Server Express Cobol compiler and license manager. . Participate in a team of web and database administrators managing the web applications for the organization. . Manage and test deployment initiatives including software upgrades on application, batch, and web servers. . Conduct disaster recovery tests. . Participate in analyzing, documenting, and performing system configuration and setup as well as integration and system testing. . Provide responsive and effective root cause resolutions and workarounds to support and resolve application issues. Basic Qualifications: . 4 Year Engineering Degree, or 3 Year Masters of Computer Application. . Familiarity with the PeopleSoft HRMS database architecture. . Minimum of 4 years proven PeopleSoft server administrator experience including installation and upgrade responsibility with PeopleTools 8.4x and HRMS 8.9 or above. . Experience installing WebLogic 8.1/9.2 with the PeopleSoft Internet Architecture (PIA). . Experience installing and support Server Express Cobol and license manager. . Familiarity with Linux O/S commands. . Oracle Database Administration is a plus. . Remote job scheduling tool knowledge (i.e. Control-M) is helpful. . Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language. . Experience with other web based technologies such as Apache, Tomcat, JBoss a plus . Project Management Experience is a plus.
