The Performance Products Division (PPD) is seeking a Platform Segment Engineer / Architect (PSA) focused on media processing and networking. In this position, you will work in a senior technical role responsible for defining and driving proof of concept platforms focused on selling Intel? Architecture products into next generation networks with an initial focus on media processing. You will work with customers, telecomm equipment manufacturers, network service providers, and ecosystem developers, both hardware and software, to define, develop, and market Intel based wireless platforms. You will be one of the key technical drivers in defining and implementing a successful segment business plan, and driving product requirements and landing zones. Responsibilities will include: - Defining and developing proof of concepts and demos including both HW and SW - Developing and presenting technical collateral's to customers, ecosystem providers, and the sales channel. - Representing customer technical requirements into the roadmap and product definition process - Publishing technical industry articles and collateral's - Driving technical design win activities, customer engagements, and resolving customer technical questions - Researching current and future market segment technical trends - Developing a deep understanding of customer usage models and applications - Driving a comprehensive benchmarking plan and understanding competitive technical solutions You should possess at least a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent). You should also possess at least 7 years of industry experience in media processing, networking, and/or Intel Architecture products. Additional qualifications include: - Knowledge of and experience with media processing technologies and products including IPTV, IMS, media gateways, video transcoding, IP-PBX, video and audio protocols and standards - Experience and a successful track record of engaging with service providers, telecomm equipment manufacturers, and media processing ecosystem providers. - Excellent overall understanding of Intel Architecture based embedded and communications systems with knowledge of one or more of the following: microprocessor architecture, chipset architectures, system architecture, platform hardware design, platform software design, firmware design. - Demonstrated ability to listen, understand, and respond professionally to customer questions and / or issues - Demonstrated ability to develop a comprehensive technical market analysis - Exhibit strong influencing and customer presentation skills - Ability to work independently, multitask effectively, and be successful in a team environment - Demonstrated ability to successfully lead technical initiatives across organizational boundaries - Experience creating customer ready collateral's, white papers, and training materials - Experience developing proof of concept systems comprehending system architecture, hardware, and software elements
