Job Description - Principal Data Warehouse Administrator
This position will report to the BW Development & Production Support Manager, Business Analytics.
Primary responsibilities include:
* Technical leadership on multiple projects or initiatives
* Collaboration with SMEs & Architect to set direction, processes, standards
* Working with team members, ABAP & Web developers and process teams to convert customer requirements into high level design
* Working closely with the technical development team to develop, design and implement BI solutions
* Configuring SAP BI to best support business requirements
* Developing data models and designing front-end solutions in the SAP BI Environment
* Guiding and leading senior/junior-level team members in BI concepts and technologies
* Understanding and communicating what is necessary to develop and deploy efficient, user-friendly solutions utilizing the BI toolset
* Providing Training to all levels of end users and other team members as required
* Traveling and networking with others to expand knowledge base
* Applying process knowledge based on best practices to support lean process improvements
* Performing research and development on industry best practices and standards
* Ensuring required documentation is created per eBusiness and Business Analytics processes and standards
* Executing and integrating system unit testing to validate that the business requirements are met by the SAP/source system; documenting unit testing results
* Understanding, adopting and following the laid down processes for BI development
* Working with customers and other eBusiness teams to build partnerships and relationships
Other Responsibilities include
* High level contributor, expected to provide guidance and direction to others on medium to large complex/budget projects.
* Perform lead role in all levels and aspects of BW development life cycle. Provide detailed functional knowledge throughout the entire development process.
* Provide regular status reports to management to communicate progress and highlight issues.
ยท Ensure appropriate test plans and test results are documented and that various testing cycles are executed as required by e-business processes.
Skills/Experience Required:
* Minimum 10 years experience in the areas of SAP/BI technology platform.
* Experience with Integrated Planning and associated functions
* Experience with Web Application Designer
* Experience in data modeling skills with background in SAP BW Backend Configuration of: InfoObjects, extractors, InfoProviders, transformations, start and end routines, and process chains
* Experience in SAP BW BEX query development
* Experience in FOX Formula development
* Experience with BW 3.5 and BI 7.0
* Experience with Business Objects Toolset - Xcelsius, Webi, Universes
* Project lifecycle methodology expertise required.
* Knowledge of SDLC is preferred
* Experience in core data warehouse concepts is required
* Experience with project management is a plus
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Able to identify and resolve common customer problems, issues, or erienced in analyzing daily problems for trends and taking steps to avoid recurrence
Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline, and eight years of related experience, or, in the absence of a bachelor's degree, fourteen years
of related experience.
