Principal Consultant

Overview 
The Principal Consultant role is responsible for managing day-to-day activities and operations for multiple client engagements. Projects will have variable length, typically between 4-6 weeks. The Principal Consultant will be responsible to deliver project discovery, analysis, recommendations, and implementation of a defined solution. 
Additional resources may be assigned to the consulting delivery team on an as needed basis based on resource requirements and skill sets needed to fullfill the project. The Principal Consultant will also manage the direction and work product of other assigned project resources.

Projects revolve around delivering enterprise cloud computing solutions leveraging cutting edge technologies such as , , VMForce, Amazon Web Services, and ExactTarget.

Responsibilities

  • Act as primary point of contact for projects, including management of timelines, meeting delivery estimates, and timely delivery of work product.
  
  
  • Lead client discovery sessions, perform questioning, review of materials, and systems.
  
  
  • Lead documentation and delivery of materials to client.
  
  
  • Perform analysis on materials derived from discovery sessions and create recommendations for a proposed solution.
  
  
  • Partner with supporting project resources assigned to the project to create deliverables. Resource management will continue to be handled directly by the respective resource manager.
  
  
  • Work with internal resources when applicable to define and or validate technical requirements or validate assessments.
  
  
  • Work with and mentor less experienced resources to assist with delivery of consulting services and grow their skill-sets.

Required Skills/Qualifications

• Past Work Experience: 3-5+ years consulting and/or product experience


• Discovery: excellent listening skills and the ability to inquisitively probe for information through questioning techniques.


• Technical Breadth: ability to review a variety of business technologies with a confident understanding of how these interact with business processes and with other systems.


• Horizontal Expertise: the ideal candidate will have experience with .


• Project Management: ability to work with a team to set and manage project scope: including timeline, identifying risks, outstanding and critical path items, and guiding the project through completion on-time and on budget.


• BRD/PRD Writing: experience writing Business/Product Requirements Documents.

Developmental Skills

The Principal Consultant is expected to develop one or more of the following skills if not already achieved.

• Certification and/or proficiency in , ExactTarget, and Amazon Web Services.

Hours Per Week

It is anticipated that the Principal Consultant work approximately 40-50 hours per week with some increases in workload as necessary to accomodate project timelines.

Location

Our offices are located in Century City, CA with additional resources in Toronto, Utah, Washington DC, and Boston. The majority of your time will be spent working out of our primary office and making on-site visits in the local area, with occasional travel to visit clients or attend industry events.

Travel may be required for short periods of time (up to 25%).
