Summary :
The Sr Principal Facilities Engineer ensures that the utilities being supplied to production, including but not limited to: Water for Injection (WFI), Electricity, HVAC, Nitrogen, Process Compressed Air, Compressed Air, City Water, Chilled Water, Clean Steam, Plant Steam, Heating Hot Water, are operating within the proper ranges for the demand. This role also ensures that these utilities are operating within an efficiency level that minimizes the cost to the business. Furthermore, this position ensures that the environment that the business operates under is in compliance and can be demonstrated, as such, to a regulatory body. This position reports to the Manager, Facilities Engineering.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (these are primary responsibilities of the role and the incumbent will perform other duties as assigned) :
• Develop and maintain project schedules using MS Project
• Create and maintain a budget for capital projects
• Serve as mentor to less experienced engineers
• Utilize the Building Monitoring System (BMS) to track the environmental controls of the production block
• Provide trend reports, generated from the BMS, as required for various historical data sets.
• Implement improvement projects for utilities and department processes
• Lead project teams as needed to accomplish project objectives
• Manage capital projects (develop and maintain schedule as well as estimate and hold budget).
• Suggest and develop energy saving ideas and facility improvements.
• Interpret building prints and utility drawings.
• Utilize business systems such as: work Orders, Change Controls, Validations, Corrective and Preventative Actions
Job Requirements
•Bachelors degree in Engineering required
•Minimum 8 years facilities engineering experience required.
•Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and the ability to use enterprise software (examples include: JDE, BPLM, Pilgrim, Trackwise, etc.)
•Working knowledge of Facility utilities required, including but not limited to:
•
•Steam
•Chilled water / Heating water
•HVAC
•Compressed air
•Cooling towers
•Nitrogen Physical / Safety Requirements:
•Duties may require overtime work, including nights and weekends
•Use of hands and fingers to manipulate office equipment is required
•Position may require sitting or standing for long hours
