Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems.
Experience with the extract and/or acquisition of geospatial information, for derivative information for analysis and visualization to solve problems and enhance the knowledge of the system user. ? Provides Geospatial Analysis services in support of the production of GIS products. Specifically : ? Apply geospatial analytical methods, substantive intelligence expertise and logical judgments to solve problems. ? Collaborate with analysts and customers on relevant topics. ? Assist in developing and implementing a metadata catalogs. ? Assist in establishing and managing geospatial analysis research and production ? Create, update, and manage geospatial information system databases and products. ? Assist in identifying, compiling and assessing geospatial and imagery data sets to support requirements. ? Collaborate with analysts and customers as required. ? Use a variety of geospatial analysis software such as (ESRI, ArcGIS, software, Google Earth, World Wind, FalconView) suites to accomplish the mission. ? Provides geospatial analysis services in the form of datasets and visualization products ? Produce solution design documentation for complex enterprise and service oriented Geospatial Information System applications implementations, custom application development projects and integrating solutions with client legacy and SOA environments. ? Participate in planning sessions with business and technology leaders to better understand and interpret client requirements. ? Develop, expand and refine comprehensive architecture models that drive client and internal solutions. ? Create project and system architecture deliverables based on current standards, methodologies and best practices. ? Provide practical knowledge of technical design and solution architecture alternatives and the implications of each approach ? Evaluate vendors and products to facilitate build vs. buy discussions with clients and internal project teams. ? Mentor development and technical staff on a variety of projects. Responsible for high-level code and design reviews during project lifecycle ? Craft technical responses to complex RFPs, as well as, provide input into key technology decisions. ? Work in a sales support role for establishing organizational qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
8-10 years of related systems engineering experience.
? Minimum of 8 years of related GIS relate software development experience ? 5 years work experience in Geospatial application design and implementation at an enterprise level ? Proven systems engineering and troubleshooting ability on complex systems. ? Proven experience with developing detailed solution architecture design plans. ? Knowledge of GIS applications such as ARC GIS, ARC View and ARC Explorer, World Wind, Google Earth, and Microsoft Virtual Earth. ? Knowledge of programming in Python, Java, C++ or C# languages ? Knowledge of NGA Feature Data and Terrain Data Specifications and other common data and product specifications. ? Demonstrated good oral and written communication skills. ? Experience writing DoD contract proposal focused on GIS engineering.
? A candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills to coordinate with personnel at all levels internally and externally. ? Proactive, quality-oriented, with demonstrated leadership and team-building skills. ? A candidate must be a self-starter and have excellent time management skills with the ability to balance priorities and work well under schedule pressures. ? Knowledge of project and/or system management processes. ? Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel. ? Candidate must possess an active DoD Secret clearance
