Description
The Lead Technical Architect (LTA) is responsible for developing architectures; the definition of the structures of a network solution to a business problem. They must be proficient at the techniques that go into the formulation of architectures, including requirements discovery and analysis, application of abstraction, formulation of solution context, solution alternatives identification and assessment, technology selection, and architectural configuration. This requires practical skills and experience with many application and infrastructure (operational) products, technologies, and services. Beyond the core skills of a Senior Technical Architect, the Lead Technical Architect must also be proficient in exercising technical leadership which requires the ability to accept responsibility for the success of the architecture of a project, coordinate resources that are often not directly under their control, and provide the support necessary to ensure overall success. The LTA must have applied knowledge in the engagement of complex projects which include efforts that require cross-organizational/business partner/multiple customer or multi-vendor coordination and on efforts that require a system of substantial scale as measured by the total number of components, the number of different kinds of components, and the complexity of the relationships between them. This job requires demonstrated expertise of how to apply architectural thinking to mission, strategy, and vision in innovative ways that deliver positive impact and results to the business. Must be able to evaluate the relevance and currency of Network implementations and architectures in a changing business environment and in the context of enterprise and technology governance. Required to be an expert in the understanding of architectural principles and their implications to system design, securability, system extensibility and interoperability, costs, and operational considerations.
Qualifications
Candidate must have good working knowledge of wireless architectures including GSM 2G and 3G, WiFi, and TCP/IP Intranetworking. Candidate must have experience in application design including service logic, network I/O, database access, and error logic and recovery. Candidate must have some application programming experience - preferably in web based or client / server architectures. Job histories with job titles such as "programmer, systems analyst, database architect, systems administrator, network architect, network designer, service architect" are all relevant."
