POSITION SUMMARY
The Outsourcing Quality Specialist supports existing products and new product introduction, conducts internal process audits and modifies and maintains quality standards for the design and manufacture of wireless consumer electronic products. This role will be responsible for providing technical support, leading and managing the quality engineering and all related Manufacturing and product realization quality engineering activities at EMS partner site. The role will require product knowledge transfer, product qualification, site qualification and conducting yearly audits of the site.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent will play an integral role in maintaining and setting product yield goals and improvement (SPC/DOE/failure analysis/use of quality tools). The successful candidate will also lead design for manufacturability (DFM) projects, lead scrap reduction projects and interface with supplier quality engineering on issues and drive resolution. In addition, the Outsourcing Quality Specialist will generate and maintain procedures and related document and be the lead in conducting PFMEA and manufacturing control plans. Introducing new SMT manufacturing processes to production.
* Coordinating with the various cross functional team, failure analysis of issues found in manufacturing, design, or in the field, while ensuring that corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner. Holding the EMS partners to be accountable for improving the process.
* Collaborating with the EMS partners to ensure we have improvement cycles within product/process.
* Planning and executing new product introduction framework at the EMS partner sites to ensure smooth ramp.
* Work with the teams to ensure that yield targets are met and customer impact from the site is very minimal.
* Manage and maintain the EMS quality score card for the site.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Engineering degree, ideally in Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
* Three to five years of related work experience.
* Solid understanding of quality processes, methods and statistical tools .
* Background in the design or manufacture of wireless communication device.
* Six Sigma knowledge.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work flexible hours when the situation arises.
* CQE will be an added asset.
