DESCRIPTION: This marketing, technical writing and engineering focused position will be part of a software product group that develops requirements for computer applications that are used by clinicians and therapists to analyze and evaluate that data that is collected by mechanical ventilators and medical devices that treat obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). These software applications are both web based and MS Windows based and are distributed and used by outside customers to manage patients data, to evaluate how the therapy is improving the patient's quality of life, and to generate reports for doctors, insurance companies, etc. This position will act as a liaison between the software development team and Product Marketing. Relocation assistance is available.
Outcomes: The successful candidate will: .Be responsible for requirements development and requirements management. .Prepare product and functional specifications. .Create use-cases to describe system features. .Mesh new features into existing products. .Transfer information in the form of product and/or system requirements from Product Marketing to Engineering development. .Manage requirement change requests in relation to the project plans to ensure agreed deadlines are met. .Assist in the creation of user and system test plans. .Maintain a trace matrix to map requirements through each phase of the product development process
Your Responsibilities: QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited university is required. Since a Product Business Analyst is a mix between Business/Marketing skills and Software Specification skills, one of the following is preferred: 1) A Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or software related program along with an MBA, or 2) A Baccalaureate Degree in Business Administration or Marketing with extensive experience with the process of developing computer software. Applicants with equivalent degrees such as a Baccalaureate Degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or Quantitative Business Analysis will also be considered.
EXPERIENCE: Seeking highly motivated marketing / engineering professional with a passion for software applications. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience on a software development team but not necessarily a programmer. The candidate will be required to demonstrate proficiency in: .Writing requirements specifications for computer applications that are unambiguous, testable and verifiable. .Interacting directly with end users (clinicians, homecare health providers, etc.), Software Engineers, Project Managers, and Marketing Managers. .Exposure to software application development and/or the process of developing software. .Ability to distinguish between customer requests and needs. .Creating use-case documentation .Tracing product requirements through the design, implementation, and test phases of development

The successful candidate will: .Learn all the features of the software application known as "Encore". .Learn what the users of Encore want to accomplish and what features they value. . Learn all aspects of the ventilators / OSA devices and how those devices interact with Encore. .Take accountability for managing all requirements for all the Encore products. .Learn the diagnostic devices and the software associated with those diagnostic devices. .Take accountability for managing all requirements for all Diagnostic & Clinical Software Application products. .Establish and maintain professional relationships in other Philips Respironics business units such as Sleep Therapy, Home Ventilation, Patient Interface and Children's Medical Ventures.
