Microsoft is in a unique position to fundamentally transform the $6 billion Business Intelligence market from a set of niche and specialized IT technologies to a broadly adopted set of end-user focused business productivity solutions, and we're looking for an exceptional Technical Product Manager to join the dynamic SharePoint TPM team to help drive that change.
The role requires a strong passion and understanding of the BI market, SharePoint and our complete BI stack. The ideal candidate will be able to think long term, execute on their plans and work effectively cross group within Microsoft across all of the products and engineering teams that form our all up BI offerings. Specifically, this position involves owning the technical sales and marketing strategies and deliverables for SharePoint BI.
As a Technical Product Manager, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in influencing and enabling our sales field and partners success though the following key activities.
- Being the Business Intelligence subject matter expert for internal training, go-to-market activities, and presentations to customers and partners. - Working collaboratively with SharePoint Product Managers developing the Business Intelligence Messaging & Positioning and go to market strategy. - Working very closely with partner teams across IW and STB to ensure SharePoint representation and positioning in the cross-MSFT BI go to market strategy. - Developing Business Intelligence best practices, technical content, demos, prescriptive guidance and tools that drive SharePoint sales and grow SharePoint market share. - Work with engineering and drive wave 15 planning and scenario prioritization. - Working with AR/PR to drive and maintain positive press and analyst relations. - Building, growing and maintaining a strong & active external community through many channels including MVPs, external events and blogs.
This position requires someone who can think analytically, creatively and strategically and execute effectively. The ideal candidate will have strong project management abilities and effective cross-group collaboration and leadership competencies.
Candidates MUST have previous SharePoint experience in a technical and/or sales role and a deep understanding of the Business Intelligence competitive landscape and technologies. Candidates must also have a proven track record of excellent communication and presentation skills and 3+ years of technical marketing or sales experience; an MBA is preferred.
