Title: Production Superintendent
Location: LA-Baton Rouge
Honeywell Performance Materials & Technologies has an immediate opening at their Fluorine Products plant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for a Production Superintendent . This position reports to the Operations Manager and offers a unique opportunity to lead the production unit as well as tank farm operations to ensure the safe and efficient operation of these manufacturing units. Successful candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Honeywell Specialty Materials employs approximately 8,500 people at more than 50 manufacturing and sales facilities worldwide.

This opening will lead the Production Unit and Tank Farm Operations at the Fluorine Products plant in Baton Rouge, LA. Fluorine Products represents a $900 million segment of the Specialty Materials business unit and is a leader in the refrigerants industry, manufacturing and supplying customers with economical chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) replacements and non-ozone depleting hydro-fluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerants for automotive, home, commercial and transportation uses. The Baton Rouge, LA manufacturing facility has approximately 170 employees.

Responsibilities:
* Drives HSE Excellence through department. Leads and implements actions to advance safety performance and awareness. Supports and monitors safety initiatives for the department and facilitates safe behaviors of the production team
* Drives Honeywell Operating System through department. Supports the standard work of direct reports
* Directs the performance and completion of incident investigations in the respective production area
* Ensures area conformance to PSM requirements and the ISO standard
* Ensures Title V Permit requirements and NPDES Permit Requirements are met
* Responsible for daily implementation of production plan and operation of supporting utilities as a service for all area users
* Assists in developing and achieving the Annual Operating Plan
* Assists in developing and achieving the Sales and Operating Plan
* Works with Raw Materials Specialist and Tank Farm/Packaging Departments to manage raw material and finished product inventories
* Works with Engineering and Plant personnel to implement plant improvements
* Works with Maintenance Department to develop and implement maintenance activities including the Preventive Maintenance and Mechanical Integrity programs
* Works with Training Department and Document Control to ensure documentation and training are up to date
* Ensures training programs for department employees meet Operations goals
* Support production units with daily troubleshooting for production or quality problems
* Responsible for the performance and development of the department personnel
* Manages Department personnel work schedules and overtime
* Assists other Production Supervisors with performance feedback
* Participates in the Weekend Duty Rotation in the Operations Department.
* Fills in for other Production Supervisors when necessary
* Other duties and assignments as necessary
Basic Qualifications :
* BS in Chemical Engineering or related technical engineering field
* 5 years experience working in a PSM chemical manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications :
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to lead a chemical manufacturing department
* Ability to get results and drive continuous improvement
* Ability to troubleshoot plant operations
* 3 years of previous supervision experience
* Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing would be a plus
