POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION PURPOSE -
We are looking for a world class, customer oriented IT professional to coordinate and lead production support activities for the Order Management System behind . The Online IT OMS Support Lead is responsible for day to day coordination ol vendor management and production support activities for a third party hosted and supported app . This individual will act as the first call support point person for internal business customers as well as the external IT vendor and other internal IT teams. Duties include: -Coordinate the activities of the OMS support team in researching issues or questions to the extent that they can with the systems access available. -If final solution to issues cannot be reached internally, coordinate the involvement of other internal or external IT resources until issues are resolved. -Work with support analyst(s)/engineer(s) and business team to ensure that issues are being addressed according to severity and business impact both internally and externally -Oversee and guide the day to day activities of the offshore production support team and produciton support inbox. -Act as SME for other IT groups on the application supported. -This position will report to the Application Support Manager and will have no direct reports.
The Lead Systems Engineer develops, maintains and supports The Home Depot's complex technical infrastructures, hardware, and system software components. Operates as a team lead providing expert technical direction to team members. Interface with Business Stakeholders on all complex projects. Ability to present ideas and take charge of projects. Update manager on all escalated issues.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
View software packages, products and define, prioritize, plan and implement solutions across multiple complex projects.
Ensure the team comprehends and applies the established processes, policies, standards and procedures.
Provide status reports to Manager and review boards on complex development projects.
Guide and direct project teams in the requirements gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs.
Ensure compliance and conduct appropriate test reviews as necessary.
NATURE AND SCOPE -
Typically reports to Manager, Information Technology
No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the technical leadership of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
Must be eighteen years of age or older. Must pass the Drug Test. Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.
EDUCATION REQUIRED -
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 5
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -
• BS Computer Science or related field, MS a plus. • 7-10 years experience is preferred. • General knowledge of Home Depot is helpful. Experience with D2C ecommerce ordering systems, call center systems or Warehouse Management Systems - Experience in a retail environment. eCommerce experience strongly preferred - Strong communication skills. Will work directly with business teams to solve problems and proactively communicate issues in business terms. - Experience with incident ticketing systems and working a support queue. - Knowledgeable of how an eCommerce business operates. Understanding of the impact of technical issues on that business and the eCommerce customer. - 5+ years of IT support experience - Skilled in the use of all Microsoft Office Applications, including Access. (Creation of Access tools for analysis a plus.) - Technical aptitude and understanding of system and database concepts. - Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work well with others. - Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; self-starter
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES -
Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
Ability to communicate to a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical.
Understands the financial implications of the project (i.e. software capitalization, cost/benefits, etc.).
