Software Engineer 3; Part Time on Call: Key Responsibilities: Designing and developing interactive web, desktop, and mobile applications. Developing the back-end for a range of instructional materials, such as scenario-based casual/serious games and interactive assessment exercises for mobile phones and tablets. Troubleshooting, debugging, and implementing software code with existing or developed systems. Analyzing business requirements, researching the range of applications, and recommending innovative, cost-effective solutions. Optimizing website usability
Basic Qualifications: Experience in 2D and 3D interactive gaming. Vector and raster graphic design experience in Photoshop and Illustrator. 3D modeling and animation skills. Experience with motion graphics and visual effects for film and video using Maya, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, and Premiere. Experience in technology-based learning and course design with a special emphasis on interactive/simulation-based online course development. HTML/CSS experience. Ability to manage dynamic data (XML) in Flash/Flex. Experience building courseware compliant with SCORM 1.2/2004 specifications. Experience implementing software and web sites that are compliant with Section 508 Accessibility requirements. Creative, out-of-the-box thinking and problem solving. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Education/Experience: BA/BS in Computer Science, Multimedia Design and Development, or related field. 5 years Flash experience. 5 years internet application architecture, development and design experience. 5 years ActionScript experience. 3 years FLEX experience.
Preferred Qualifications: ASP.NET C# expertise. Experience programming in OOP languages such as Actionscript, JavaScript, Java, C#, C , and VB. Two or more years of experience programming in Actionscript 3.0. Experience in database design and SQL. Experience in mobile application development. Advanced knowledge of Flex/Flash Builder, Flex Framework, or Adobe AIR Runtime.
