Programmer/ Analyst - Application Support
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Provides in-depth support and leads diagnostic and problem solving efforts for specific technology products or applications in use at Red Wing Shoe Company. The position is a combination of customer service, problem solving and programming.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: • Participates in analysis of client identified issues or problems which may require changes to procedures, standards, or systems. • Make and implement code changes when appropriate. • Document issues, research, and solutions to create a knowledge base. • Provide training, either informal or formal, to customers as needed. • Assist in fulfilling requests for new reports or changes to existing reports. • Fulfill requests for ad hoc reports or data extracts.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Maintain quality service by establishing, following, and enforcing organization quality system standards. • Complete other duties as assigned from time to time by your manager. • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, classes or programs. • On issues that involve creating or changing reports or applications, conform to departmental standards. • Uphold Red Wing Shoe Company’s core values. • Conduct self according to RWSC policies/Handbook.
CUSTOMERS Red Wing Shoe Company employees using supported technology products. Other IT personnel who may require short-term support.
Requirements
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) and six months to one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES OR KNOWLEDGE: SQL; ; C# and any other development tool supported at Red Wing Shoe Company. Reporting tools such as Crystal Reports and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS); SQL Server Management Studio;
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: • Able to work equally well independently or as part of a collaborative team. • Adept at creative problem solving, determining root cause, and recognizing ramifications. • Able to decipher existing code. • Able to quickly grasp overall system designs and flows. • Good verbal and written communication skills tailored for the audience at hand. • Strong customer service orientation. • Experience with Lawson M3 or similar ERP software product.
