SUMMARY
Under minimal supervision, provides programming support for existing software enhancements. Support may be for customer or internal organizations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Develops programming code for existing software enhancements. * Devises block diagrams, logic procedures and prepares flowcharting. * Troubleshoots and debugs existing code. * Tests code and fixes to ensure quality. * Develops conversion and system implementation plans; implements newly created code and fixes into existing software. * Provides programming support for various interfaces. * Keeps customers informed of all enhancements, troubleshooting, and fixes. * Creates all programming documentation. * Completes project bids. * Serves as project lead on complex projects. * Mentors, trains, develops and provides support to less experienced co-workers. Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Associate?s or Bachelor?s degree preferred. * Mainframe experience required. Cobol and REXX experience needed. * Experience with ATM/Debit card transaction processing required. * Minimum of six to nine years of experience in programming or related field; or * An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS * ISO 8583 message format, bit map experience. * Prior customer service experience, detail oriented and highly organized. * Has a wide range of experience and able to resolve complex issues. * Works on complex and diverse projects. * Analysis requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. * Exercises good judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining solutions. * Excellent knowledge of the financial industry. * Excellent knowledge of applicable Change Management System. * Excellent communication and customer interaction skills. * Excellent organizational and time management skills. * Able to write software code; excellent knowledge of appropriate programming language(s). * Able to lead complex projects. * Able to meet aggressive deadlines. WORKING CONDITIONS * Typical office setting with environmentally controlled conditions. * Able to work extended hours as business needs dictate. * Occasional overnight travel required. * Able to participate in on-call rotation to provide assistance to general support.
