Cognos Planning Developer Cognos Planning Developer Job Responsibilities Work directly with customers to translate business requirements into best practice solutions Document business processes including the data flow in and out of Cognos Planning Create design specifications that include reconciliation across multiple systems Accommodate the customer's business needs, resolve conflicting demands and maintain positive customer relations with strong communication and coordination Develop new and enhance existing Cognos Planning (Contributor and Analyst) applications and reports. Develop processes and procedures to administer Cognos Planning applications Technical management of projects including creating project plans and progress of multiple resources Qualifications 7+ years experience independently developing Cognos Planning applications (Contributor and Analyst) and reports using Cognos 8 reports, Cognos Planning, and Cognos Business Intelligence (BI). 8.4 experience is preferred. Experience authoring Cognos Planning technical requirements and design documents for business applications 7+ years experience supporting business applications with direct customer contact including process and requirements phases. 4-year degree in computer information systems, finance or related discipline. Must be able to multi-task with diverse scope and complexity while meeting aggressive deadlines Be able to work on multi-service integrations often requiring extremely complex problem solving with a solution mind set Experience working on projects that have high executive visibility with minimal level of supervision Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for improving processes Proven written and verbal communication skills including meeting facilitation and presentation creation Demonstrated analytical skills, problem-solving ability and decision-making Proven ability to interact with both technology and business functions.
