Tasks To Be Accomplished * Provide support to real-time MRB team and disposition purchased items in a timely fashion * Work in conjunction with SQA team for RRCA * Coordinate root cause investigations and corrective action implementation * Cost reduction initiatives * Assess and provide input on the manufacturability of new/sustaining products and assemblies at the suppliers * Provide support to SQA for Vendor Approval Process * Support in lean roll out to Supply Chain * Determine the requirement for and coordinate the design of new tooling and fixtures to support the build process * Take part in Kaizen Events and other continuous improvement initiatives such as outsourcing and kitting opportunities * Develop and maintain project schedules and timelines to ensure new processes and procedures are implemented * Coordinate the development and maintenance of assembly drawings where required * Manage the SINCR process * Provide support to procurement in terms of design to cost targets * Provide support to procurement in generating specifications and Statement of Work * Provide support to suppliers for efficiency and capacity constraints * Establish material handling requirements for shipment of products from suppliers
Skills Required * Excellent technical communication skills, both written and verbal * Excellent organizational and planning/project management skills * Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office & Project * Understanding of precision metal machining manufacturing processes an asset * Understanding of optical manufacturing processes an asset * Proficient use of Solidworks and IDEAS * Strong knowledge of GD&T, with drawing standards and mechanical design standards * Knowledge of MRP system * Knowledge of capacity planning * Knowledge of capability analysis * Knowledge of DFMA/DFT/DFC/PFEMA * Knowledge of a Manufacturing floor; Ability to lead the closure of technical issues * Dynamic, resourceful and are known for sense of initiative (sense of urgency, innovative, problem solver) * Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines * Ability to challenge the status Quo and provide recommendations with supporting data * Proven track record implementing process improvements * Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing an asset Experience & Education requirements * University degree in Engineering or college diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent * Minimum of three to five years experience in an Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering capacity
