Position Description Chartis has an opportunity for a Project Manager in the Finance Operations Department. As a Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Ability to use process driven methodology to restructure complex situations and present them in a simple fashion.
- Strong understanding of processes, and ability to quickly map a process, identify opportunities for improvement, and suggest alternatives for improvement.
- Manage multiple projects.
- Prepare business cases.
- Develop, structure, and track a project plan across multiple work streams.
- Work with domestic and overseas offices to ensure all home office aspects of process, organizational, and system updates are considered.
- Develop "Business Requirement Documents" (BRDs) for finance related projects (accounting, financial planning and analysis, billing/collections, actuary, etc.).
- Work with developers in the interpretation of the requirements and review of the "System Requirements Statements" (SRS).
- Development of test scripts and the QA process.
- Conduct walk-through of recommended system functionality with business users.
- Train users.
- Data mapping.
- Develop and maintain documentation.
- Work on data migration requirements in respect of legacy system conversions.
- Post implementation support. Position Requirements - 5+ years of experience in transformation of accounting and finance processes and systems, preferably insurance related.
- Business Process Methodology (Lean, Six Sigma, or Theory of Constraints) -- preferred.
- Life Cycle project exposure (Software Development Life Cycle- SDLC).
- Familiarity with financial processes, including accounting and budgeting/planning -- a plus.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Systems (ERPs), especially with SAP modules -- a big plus.
- Strong background in accounting preferable, and knowledge of insurance industry preferred.
- Strong problem solving skills, excellent communication skills, energetic self-starter, and strong interpersonal skills.
