Job Description

SelectHealth is seeking a motivated junior level Project Manager.

The Project Manager - Associate leads the project team to meet project objectives within scope, schedule, cost, resource, quality, risk constraints.  Manages projects whose core deliverables require new or improved information systems solutions.

This position works under the direction of more experienced project managers to assist them in their responsibilities or manages small to medium sized projects with direction and oversight.   

Job Essentials

1. Assists in the development and execution of project plans including a detailed schedule of tasks and owners using SelectHealth PMO approved methodologies and tools.  Updates the project plan as directed to achieve project objectives within schedule, scope and resource constraints
2. Assists in identifying needed project resources and works with resource managers using approved processes and tools to ensure that adequate resources are in place to support the project plan.  May help escalate project resource issues in a timely manner.
3. Assists in developing project cost plans, benefit plans and the overall project budget.  Tracks actual costs against budget to ensure the realization of expected value from resource usage.
4. Assists in assigning project work, setting priorities, and providing guidance in the completion of tasks, reviewing deliverables, and approving project timesheets.
5. Assists in identifying, analyzing, managing, mitigating and resolving issues and risks (including dependencies) affecting the project.  May help escalate issues and risks to management.
6. Assists with the development, review and approval of the documents required by the Project Life Cycle.  Leads preparation for Project Life Cycle phase transition Checkpoint reviews. 
7. Assists in developing and executing project communication plans to ensure timely, accurate, effective communication of project related information to stakeholders.  Uses PMO approved methods and tools to ensure consistency.  Assists in developing presentations for use in various venues.  Helps organize and lead project meetings. 

This position will work with confidential and proprietary information that requires a signed IT Employee Invention and Confidentiality Agreement upon hire.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a science, engineering, or business management field OR four or more years of science, engineering, or business management experience.  Intermountain Healthcare verifies both degree attainment and educational institution accreditation following an offer of employment.
• Excellent data management, analysis and presentation skills including use of common tools to extract data and develop reports and graphs for use in reports.

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of experience in an Information Systems organization in a project manager role
• One or more years of experience as a team member involved in managing complex projects
• Experience with Microsoft Project
• Experience with Healthcare IT technologies and applications
• Experience managing projects using an organizationally mandated Project Life Cycle including phase-gate style project reviews
• Experience managing projects utilizing agile project management methods
• Project Management certification(s)
