Project - Senior Application Developer II (Sports Media/Graphics/Web/IT)
We are looking for talented and creative web application developers to apply the latest GUI technologies to advanced video work flow solutions. These tools will be used by our production and operations community to create and distribute video content across all our local and global locations.
This is a project position with an estimated length of 1.5 years.
Responsibilities
Implementation of the software development lifecycle of the assigned applications and application components; with the focus toward design, development and testing.
May participate in maintenance and analysis.
Creates and maintains project technical documentation in accordance to the standards set forth by the architectural team.
Assignments often require the interpretation and dissemination of highly complex information.
Recommendation of new technologies, products.
Provides feedback for the development of detailed project plans and schedules for assigned projects.
Troubleshoots complex system problems providing diagnosis and resolution.
Assists in the build and deployment of applications.
Participates in the training of end users and other staff in the use of new and enhanced applications.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience with the design and construction of Web software systems/ applications
Solid understanding in the development highly effective and responsive systems.
Strong knowledge of currently available products, technologies, and solutions that should be analyzed for potential application to our systems.
Ability to assist in the growth and mentoring of others, in developing, accurate, reliable and robust solutions that meet design specifications and anticipate future uses and enhancements.
Ability to anticipates and avoid most common problems; solve problems quickly and independently when they arise.
In depth knowledge of Object-Oriented analysis, design, and development.
Advanced knowledge of Java and/or other WEB programming languages.
String SQL skills and experience with Oracle and/or MySQL DBs.
Preferred Qualifications
UML and object modeling.
Experience with Javascript, GWT or other AJAX technologies.
Experience with JBoss or other Web server technology.
Required Education
B.S. in Information Technology or related field or equivalent job experience.
