Project - Systems Administrator (Sports Media/Graphics/IT)
We are seeking a Storage Systems Administrator. In this role, you will be expected to help maintain our 6 PETA bytes of EMC and IBM disk based storage that supports not only business applications but also a variety of on-air and near-to-air systems. You will interface with various enterprise groups and will assist in the managing of storage platforms that support those groups. You will be responsible for bringing on new disk subsystems, upgrade, monitor and troubleshoot existing systems. You will be also be responsible for maintaining over 50 Brocade switches and 3000 ports.
Responsibilities
Responsible for installing, configuring and managing a large number of clustered disk storage systems.
Interface with various enterprise development groups to identify requirements, and generate deployment configurations and working with storage vendors to craft solutions
Operational support for deployed SANs, diagnosis and troubleshooting of production issues, root cause analysis Identify performance bottlenecks and tune systems as necessary within the SAN infrastructure
Participate in deployment, administration and support of enterprise storage solutions.
EMC/IBM SAN systems administration and scripting using SYMCLI and NAVICLI, as well as Brocade FOS.
Assist with storage and fiber development/operational work
Accountable for high levels of personal operating efficiency on assigned tasks and problems.
Prepare and maintain detailed design and operational documentation for production systems.
Take ownership of projects and research technologies needed to implement new initiatives.
Participates in analyzing and recommending new technologies, products, and innovations that would improve systems and the support of those systems.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience in SAN configuration, administration and management.
Experience installing, configuring and supporting Fiber Channel hardware.
Experience with Windows Server OS, native MPIO and vendor drives (IE:Powerpath).
Strong working experience with Brocade, Clariion and Symmetrix.
Experience in Storage Virtualization, i.e., Thin Provisioning, Invista, SVC.
Experience in managing enterprise storage using software like Navisphere, SMC, IBM SSM, etc.
Experience interfacing and co-coordinating with multiple enterprise groups on projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Minor/Major in engineering or computer science or equivalent experience
Experience with Perl, LINUX and UNIX operating systems
