QA Engineers / Analysts

Expertech is currently looking for intermediate level Quality Assurance Professionals. The role involves working closely with the business analysts and developers to understand business requirements and technical structure.
The ideal candidates should be experienced with various standard test methodologies, able to quickly acquire business and technical knowledge to come up with robust test cases, and work against aggressive timelines.
The candidates will be required to :
- define test strategies and test cases covering all aspect of functional, regression, and performance testing
- execute test cases independently or collaborate with other QA members in test execution.
This will involve the rapid, programmatic creation and manipulation of test data, test execution and data validation in a primarily Unix/Linux environment. The QA professionals will also be expected to design, write and maintain backend automation scripts for testing. The successful candidate will recommend and influence changes to developers to further improve software quality.
Candidates will ideally possess the following set of skills and credentials:
-Computer Science or Engineering (BSc, BEng, etc) degree preferred
-3-5+ years working in or leading a hands-on testing team
-Experience in relational databases (Sybase) and Solaris/Linux operating systems
-Current working experience creating test harnesses in Perl, shell, and SQL
-Accomplished practitioner with Unix command line and various Unix shells
-Self-motivated team player with ability to prioritize and to multitask
-Experience in practical application of testing methodology, including test case writing, coverage tracking and requirements interpretation
-Experience in Software Development Life Cycle methodologies
-Excellent written and verbal communications skills
-Results oriented Skills Desired Skills/Qualifications Desired
The following skills are considered important assets:
-Understanding of XML and SOAP, RDBMS
-Experience working as part of a global team
-Experience testing Java, C#, .NET and web products
-Experience with Quick testPro, Quality Center or other QA tools
-Experience in a Sybase environment (asset, but not required)
