The Quality Assurance Specialist works on multi-faceted internal projects and assists with continuous improvement activities in areas of quality, product audits, inspection, product failure analysis, corrective action tasks and resolution of non-conformance items. Under minimal supervision, the position provides input to quality management by identifying potential problems with new and existing products and processes. To help ensure customer satisfaction is continually enhanced, various problem-solving and problem-prevention tools will be used to analyze feedback and enable data-based decisions.
· Monitor regulatory and industry trends/actions and provide updates as applicable. · Facilitate changes to SOPs, policies, training materials and other documents as needed. · Mentor co-workers and internal customers with interpretation of SOP requirements and other guidance documents, as applicable. · Assist in responding to customer complaints and inquiries with appropriate sense of urgency and business criticality. · Analyze product failures and reliability parameters using statistical methods and help develop corrective actions to prevent future recurrence. · Provide objective root cause analysis and guidance on corrective action for process related concerns. · Assist in maintenance of supplier performance records and conduct supplier audits, as needed. · Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actions. · Work with Operations personnel to continuously improve receiving inspection process and procedures. · Perform internal supplemental audits to verify department activities are in conformance to applicable external standards and internal SOPs. · Assist in activities associated with ICS audits and tracking. · Assist in creation of spot product and process inspection activities. · Assist with maintenance of the ISO 9001 quality management system. · Provide assistance on continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system. · Analyze monthly trending reports of key initiatives to highlight potential problem areas and ensure continuous quality improvement. · Interface with various departments and groups in problem resolution and continual improvement. · Assist with continuous feedback mechanisms for customer satisfaction measurement.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Associate's degree in a technical field and 4-5 years in a quality assurance role. · Familiarity with various quality methods and problem-solving tools. · Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and organizational abilities. · · Experience leading small groups and/or projects. · Experience using control charts and other graphical methods to demonstrate and explain process and product issues. · · Practical experience using and assisting in the implementation of quality methodologies and concepts, including configuration management activities. · Strong experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio or related toolset. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization.
