Title: Quality Assurance Analyst Location: China Research & Development-Beijing This staff member will work as a SAS Quality Assurance (QA) analyst to support SAS Solutions OnDemand (SSO) initiatives in the Advanced Analytics Lab [AAL] division. The QA analyst works closely with software architects, developers, and documentation specialists to
* define, document and coordinate execution of test plans * identify and assist in the resolution of system defects * assist development and integration efforts across software engineering groups and projects * Deliver quality software solutions that meet SSO and client expectations for quality. Duties: * Interact directly with developers to test software, resolve bugs, represent customer interests, and incorporate quality during the development and QA cycle. * Work directly with analysts and developers to test and assure quality of programs and data from daily analysis and results delivered to customers. * Perform verification and QA of algorithms, data sets and reports used in creating and/or analyzing customer data. * Verify data warehouse back loads to ensure: all dates accounted for, data is accurate and reports accurately reflect data. * Design, develop and execute test programs that evaluate the quality of SAS system code written to provide AAL solutions for customers. * Exercise independent judgment regarding methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for software testing. * Create and verify detailed test plans. * Compile and maintain defect lists and work closely with developers to resolve problems. * Document validation procedures and results. * Programming, scripting, and other duties as assigned. * Bachelor degree in Computer Science, or related quantitative field. * Minimum 2 years programming experience with Base SAS software. * Solid understanding of SAS Macro programs and datastep processing. * Ability to work in a dynamic and high-energy team environment. * Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills. * Solid debugging skills. * Superior verbal and written communication skills. * Proven record of increasing responsibilities. * Ability to work independently and with a team.
Preferences: * Advanced degree in Computer Science, or related quantitative field. * Experience using SAS Business Intelligence Architecture and SAS version 9 solutions. * SAS Certified Advanced Programmer. * Strong Unix skills. * Analytical programming experience. * Experience with e-commerce, financial, or web data. * Experience in QA or development testing.
