POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for implementing, maintaining, documenting, and enhancing test plans, test scripts, test methodologies, and a test environment that ensures exhaustive testing of all assigned software applications to ensure compliance with system specifications. The position requires strong interpersonal and technical skills to work effectively and efficiently with development staff and users in order to test pre- and post-release software.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include: * Perform C code review and debugging. * Assist QA Team with the design, implementation, and support of comprehensive test plans to ensure systems requirements are met. * Create and maintain test plans that ensure comprehensive testing according to systems specifications. * Pre-screen software problem reports to determine deviation from system specifications. * Utilize automated testing software. * Measure system performance on multi-user platforms through manual or automated test scenarios and provide improvement recommendations. * Ensure technical documentation and systems are in agreement. * Work with developers, beta testers, and end-users to ensure releases are error free. * Monitor product quality and reject non-compliant software. * Assist IT Team with the install and maintenance of lab equipment (e.g. test machines). * Work under minimum supervision. * Requires creativity, sound judgment, and foresight to identify potential problems with assigned application software. * High-level of attention-to-detail to ensure stress testing at all limits of system specifications. * Interpret user problems and suggest appropriate system change proposals to correct defects and to enhance system functionality and performance. * Work in a team environment (e.g. Application Developers, QA Team, Support Services) to satisfy system requirements. * Remain current on changes and new developments and techniques that will effect and/or improve application systems * Establish and maintain good working relationships with a variety of persons and groups both inside and outside the company. * Interact with technical and development staff to ensure error free software, technical reference manuals, and user guides. * Advise on technical matters with management, staff, and end-users when required. * Function within the policies and administrative procedures of the company * Accept other responsibilities as assigned ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Minimum of 5 years experience in software troubleshooting and analysis. * Strong knowledge of Visual C , with a proven ability to perform code review. * Requires debugging knowledge and the ability to read/analyze crash dumps. * Must be able to create and implement test plans, scripts, and procedures. * Experience in configuring and maintaining IP based communication clients and networks. * Must be familiar with testing of electronic communications applications (primarily email and FAX).
