Job Summary: THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO CURRENT MEMBERS OF THE NEVADA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD OR ALL PERSON ELIGIBLE FOR MEMBERSHIP IN THE NVARNG. THIS POSITION REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP. VETERAN'S PREFERENCE IS NOT RECOGNIZED FOR EXCEPTED APPOINTMENT POSITIONS. Key Requirements: EXCEPTED SERVICE ENLISTED COMPATIBLE MILITARY SPECIALTY: 15U, 15T, 15V Major Duties: This position is located in the Quality Assurance function in an Army National Guard (ARNG) Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF). The AASF provides flight and flight training operations, Aviation Unit maintenance (AVIM) and aviation maintenance training for supported units. The purpose of this position is to establish, develop and implement the AASF quality assurance and reliability programs. Serves as the Quality Assurance Representative for the AASF. Qualifications: Specialized: Prefer to have twenty-four (24) months experience, education, or training which demonstrates the applicant's skill to present technical information verbally or in written form; skill to collect and analyze data; skill to apply guideline material by reading and interpreting technical material, and skill in dealing with others in a work relationship. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Wear of the appropriate military uniform and maintaining standards of conduct and appearance are mandatory. Additionally, the selectee agrees to attend all Unit Training Assemblies and Annual Training with his/her unit of assignment. Applicants who feel they have restoration rights to this position should contact the HRO. IAW the civil service employment law (5 U.S.C. 3328), male applicants born after 31 December 1959 are required to furnish a statement of Selective Service registration status prior to appointment. IAW the Immigration Reform Act of 1986 (Public Law 99-6603), successful applicant will be required to provide verification of eligibility to work in the United States. Member agrees to initiate Direct Deposit Action for payroll checks. Substitution of education for specialized experience will not be used. Acceptance of any military technician position over 179 days will cause termination (without recoupment) of entitlement and eligibility for all bonuses and student loan repayments effective the date of employment. This does not affect Montgomery GI Bill eligibility. No PCS funds are available. Grade inversion is not permitted. Failure to complete all the requirements for this position will result in termination. Knowledge of quality assurance procedures and methods, and the sources of pertinent regulatory and guideline material related to the functional activity supported by the quality assurance program. 2. Skill in developing quality data sources, recognizing discrepancies, detecting trends, investigating to develop additional or corroborative information, and preparing documented technical reports of findings. 3. Skill in interpreting and explaining a variety of technical requirements and in making independent judgments concerning such things as the extent to which procedures conform to requirements, or that procedures are effective in controlling quality.
