Description: 1. Has responsibility and full authority to accept parts or reject parts. 2. Fully support the off shore suppliers development effort and work closely with the INT procurement team in supporting this effort. 3. Examine reported non-conformity and understand how it related to fit, form, and function. 4. Review INT suppliers FA reports and follow QVI policy in responding within 24 hours 5. Work with QVI Syteline business solution system 6. Generates, maintains, updates, and administers QUALITY incoming inspection procedures, processes, sampling systems, and statistical techniques. 7. Maintains QUALITY records and practices specific to QC requirements such as ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 and ISO 10012-1. 8. Works with suppliers as needed to resolve quality issues. 9. Reviews product specifications and standards as well as OGP drawings, recommending changes when needed. 10. Maintains QC inspection equipment to assure accuracy and periodic calibration. 11. Generates reports to monitor parts quality problems, issues, trends and corrective actions. Reports include assessment of QUALITY performance for both external and internal suppliers. 12. Conduct QC internal audit as directed by the quality eng/ procurement manager and the VP of manufacturing. 13. Responsible for constantly communicating the Dock to Stock program goals with QVI key domestic suppliers ensuring the corporate goals are met. 14. Travel on short notice domestically and internationally as needed to support the new project source inspection plan, and work OT as needed to support the manufacturing organization. 15. Supports the Production Machine Shop in calibrating and certifying all automated machine work centers.
Qualifications: Must have a minimum of an A.A.S. degree in a technical, quality control, or business field. Experience using MAPICS or a similar MRP Business Information System is desirable. Familiarity with QVI products, software, and internal operations processes would be a plus. Must demonstrate: 1. Strong interpersonal communications skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision. 2. Good written and verbal communication skills as well as effective interaction with team members and with other departments. 3. Commitment to being a team player with a flexible, positive, adaptive approach to resolving problems or changes. 4. Good analytical skills for identifying problems and creative ways to resolve these problems. 5. Proficiency in computer software tools and applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word. 6. Ability to read mechanical drawings, sometimes of a complex nature. 7. Working knowledge of part requirements with very close tolerances (typical +/- 0.0002 inch). 8. Proficiency in the use of a CMM, contour projectors, non contact video, calipers, micrometers, plug and thread gages, etc. 9. Knowledge of basic mathematics. Measurement proficiency in both English and metric systems. 10. Full understanding and demonstration of GD&T is required.
