Itron is seeking to bring on an individual who is seeking to bring their Quality focused background (preferably one with 5 to 8 years experience) to a core of Quality/Manufacturing Engineers who are seeking to take their work to the level of the Shingo level of manufacturing where continuous process improvement is the core focus. This is a smaller group of engineers who not only work closely in a team atmosphere but who enjoy a diverse work force but can stand on their own and enjoy the challenges of taking their work to the next level within a prized manufacturing facility.
In this role, one develops, evaluates, revises, and applies technical quality assurance protocols/methods to inspect and test in-process raw materials, production equipment, and finished products. Ensures activities and items are in compliance with both company quality assurance standards and applicable government regulations. Performs analysis and identifies trends in the inspection of finished products, in-process materials and bulk raw materials, and recommends corrective actions when necessary. Ensures that established manufacturing inspection, sampling and statistical process control procedures are followed. May assure compliance to in-house and/or external specifications and standards, such as GMPs and ISO regulations. Evaluates and analyzes the efforts in organizing, documenting, and interpreting inspection support documents and records.
* This position requires engineering level analysis of data gathered from various stages of the product's life cycle including design test, manufacturing test, reliability test and field returns. * Emphasis in the areas of process capability and product quality, this position will use analytical techniques to make recommendations for continual improvement as well as ensuring conformance to internal and external standards. * Strong focus on continual improvement and reporting on process and product performance/ process capability studies. * Develop quality plans. * Correlate process data with manufacturing and engineering information. * Lead improvement initiatives in quality & productivity. * Liaison with purchasing, R&D and marketing on product specific initiatives. * Management of quality system, data management and control utilizing centralized databases. Experience:This position requires up to 1 year of previous related professional experience with a high preference for 5 to 8 years of related experience.

* Highly automated in the assembly process * Continuous improvement processes * Interface with Suppliers * ISO-9000 (alternatives include automotive TS-16949, Aerospace AS-9100, Medical device stds.) * Electronics manufacturing experience * Surface Mount Device experience (SMD) * Experience with Control Plans and FMEA * Knowledge of electronics certifications: IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-Std * Automotive or medical electronics work experience (preferred)
Education:Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience with a preference for Quality, Manufacturing, Electrical or any other related focus in the engineering realm. Certification(s): ASQ, Six Sigma or Green Belt is desired
