Title: Quality Sr Professional Location: MS: MISSISSIPPI-STENNIS SPACE CENTER Stennis Data Center Quality SR Professional Essential Job Functions * Candidate will assist the Quality Assurance Manager to perform the role of Quality Management and be responsible for a variety of quality assurance and performance measurement activities in support of a Program Management Office (PMO) for a government client. The selected candidate will perform day to day activities necessary to sustain quality and performance measurement disciplines associated with IT operations and program/task order initiatives. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform quality planning, quality assurance, auditing and contingency planning activities Develop and maintain program documentation detailing quality management and performance management plans Administer processes to ensure the program is meeting performance and contractual requirements and operating in compliance with governing policies Work with colleagues to recommend metrics and measurement strategies for IT projects and operations Perform assessments on program and project performance relative to established measures and report on results * PREFERRED SKILLS Skilled in Microsoft Excel (versions 2003 or 2007) Skilled in Microsoft Access (versions 2003 or 2007) Working knowledge with other Microsoft Products (Word, Power Point and Visio) Knowledge of Windows SharePoint Services Knowledge of BMC Remedy Ticketing Tool (current version is 7.1) Understanding of Lean or Six Sigma problem solving / improvement methodologies Understanding of industry accepted Quality principles Working Experience in performing QA Audits and initiating/enforcing Program/Project Controls Knowledge of ISO standards ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 20000 strongly recommended Understanding of industry accepted Root Cause Analysis principles (5-Why, Kepner-Tregoe, Comparative Analysis, Pareto analysis, FMEA, Ishikawa diagrams) Understanding of ITIL Processes and Practices ITIL Foundations certificationpreferred(V2 or V3) Some coursework or training in ITIL is minimally acceptable Working operational knowledge of Service Asset and Configuration Management principles Knowledge of building and maintaining an accurate CMDB strongly desired Ability to interview/lead operations and/or stakeholder review and audit meetings Ability to work independently with minimal guidance. Must be task oriented, driven to excel, analytical in approach and willing to learn quickly. Will be required to obtain a DHS Entry on Demand (EOD) clearance (mandatory) and eventual DOD minimum Secret clearance. Full background investigation will be conducted (drug, criminal and financial). Clean credit history a must. Do not apply if you believe there is a reason you will not pass. Employment contingent upon successfully obtaining DHS EOD clearance. * Establishes and documents a tailored strategy quality plan in collaboration with the project manager, for the performance of quality assurance activities for assigned project or task. * Develops and maintains quality assurance documentation for projects and tasks to include quality metrics. Ensures documentation complies with established software development standards, policies and procedures or best practices. * Conducts assessments and evaluations through independent analysis and interpretation of objective and subjective evidence to verify compliance to established standards and applicable quality plan. Determines level of process and product quality. Develops written reports of findings; escalates unresolved issues to appropriate management levels. * Evaluates work products to independently assess quality and reports findings. Researches alternative solutions to problems, determines proper approaches, makes verbal and/or written recommendations to appropriate parties and implements solutions. * Gathers uses and analyzes defect metrics data. Assists in presenting analysis findings to the appropriate levels of management verbally and through the preparation of periodic written reports. * Participates in special projects, external audits and process improvements in support of quality assurance initiatives. * Assists management in the definition and maintenance of an effective and efficient quality program, including the development and presentation of associated training and familiarization to affected staff. Revises standard practices and procedures as appropriate. * Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel. Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience * Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, engineering, management information systems, computer science, or related field preferred * Four or more years of quality assurance, engineering or management information systems experience * Experience working with quality metrics and software industry metric data collection and analysis techniques * Experience working with quality assurance principles and practices and software development methodologies such as Catalyst * Experience working with standard software development methodology assessments, such as SEI/CMM or ISO 9000 * Experience working with project management methodology * Experience working with software test science and tools Other Qualifications * Good organization and time management skills * Communication skills to interact and present findings to team members, customers, management and support personnel * Good analytical and problem solving skills * Interpersonal skills for interacting with project and task team members * Good personal computer and business solutions software skills * Basic leadership skills to mentor less experienced quality assurance personnel * Ability to handle activities on multiple projects and tasks within the same or different accounts * Ability to work independently * Ability to work in a team environment, even when remote support is required * Ability to deal with and manage change * Ability to complete assigned responsibilities in a given timeframe within a given budget * Ability to handle multiple project and task responsibilities simultaneously and switch among them quickly to meet prioritized business needs * Ability to independently generate presentations regarding quality assurance group activities and status, and present them to senior management, customers and development staff * Willingness to travel
