Job Description ARINC is a world-class provider of network and messaging services. We operate a worldwide layer 3 managed transport service known as the ARINC Global Network (AGN). ARINC in Annapolis, MD is seeking a Field and Customer Service Technician to ensure the maintenance, operation and performance of RapydConnex Mobile Terminals and assume an on-site leadership role with customer satisfaction as the primary goal. This position will report to the Mobile Edge Solutions Senior Director in ARINC's Advanced Systems Engineering & Integration Division.

On site customer duties include:
. Maintain RapydConnex satellite and network communication system availability above acceptable levels.
. Troubleshoot and resolve any identified circuit or equipment outages or degradation.
. Provide interim reports as necessary, based on particular site conditions and/or problems.
. Maintain the site (including electronics and office) in professional and clean manner.
. Performing the on-site duties which enable ARINC RapydConnex to successfully implement contractual duties relative to mobile terminal operations and maintenance.

This position will require up to approximately 70% travel, including locations outside the U.S.

Qualifications Required Experience:

. Must have 5+ years of field and customer service support experience in the communications industry (preferably SATCOM.
. Ideal candidate will have experience as a military radio operator or technician.
. Team oriented with an ability to motivate and work well with diverse and cross-functional teams is required.
. Must be hands-on person with the knowledge to operate and configure the following equipment to include, but not limited to:
o Antenna controller, satellite acquisition
o SSPA/HPA/TWT, LNA/LNB - Low Noise
o Fiber/Coax/Ethernet Cable Work
o FDMA/TDMA modems (satellite modems)
o Up-converters, down-converters
o Spectrum Analyzers
. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Desired Experience:

. Additional knowledge in these areas is a plus:
o AVL and other Ku- and L- band satellite antennas
o Antenna Control Units (ACUs)
o Cisco switches
o Cisco routers
o iDirect Modems
o PBX - T1/E1, FXS, Adds/Drops
. Strategic or tactical multi-channel satellite communications experience is a plus. Good grasp of satellite communications operational theory is a bonus.

Education/Certification Requirements: Bachelor's or technical degree in appropriate discipline, or in the absence of a degree, ten years of related experience.
Amount of Travel Required for Position 50%-75%
