Salisbury by Honeywell (ES) is the market leader in products serving the electrical safety, arc flash and NFPA70E compliance markets within the electrical utility and industrial safety channels. We have an opening for a dynamic individual to take the high profile position of:
Regional Sales Manager - Canada West
This candidate will be responsible for a region with sales of $3 million , and will be looked to by their customers for support in sales, marketing and customer service. We are looking for someone that can manage this territory and also its challenges and take it to new highs.

POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for planning, coordinating, and developing business opportunities in Western Canada. Ensures that sales and marketing plans and policies are well executed. Continues ongoing and professional relationships which support the Company's strategic direction. Develops and maintains productive working relationships with distributors and end user customers. Conducts sales calls designed to increase product and service placement in assigned territory. Participates in trade shows, sales meetings, and provides training as assigned. Keeps Senior Management well informed of opportunities, significant problems, and sales projections.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
1. Assumes responsibility for the planning and development of effective sales strategies.

a. Executes regional sales plan with necessary adjustments in relation to changing market conditions. Assists in development of programs, policies, and goals that will expand business opportunities.

b. Promotes the Salisbury and Honeywell brands, differentiates products and services, and make sales presentations to prospective contacts.

c. Seeks opportunites to increase existing customer sales base and prospects for new customer leads. Leverages current client relationships to further expand business opportunities at all levels.

d. Conducts regular sales calls to build distributor and end user customer relationships. Follows up on product or service leads, and tracks major transactions through closing.

e. Monitors sales performance across geographical distributor and customer lines. Develops specific action plans to improve sales channel opportunites.

f. Maintains indepth knowledge of Salisbury products, client operations, systems, and needs.

g. Assists and supports senior management and other company departments regarding long and short term planning and directives.

2. Assumes responsibility for effectively implementing strategic plans.

a. Conducts formal reviews of sales activities. Addresses variances in performance.

b. Maintains ongoing relationships with distributor partners which are beneficial in expanding the distribution of products and services.

c. Networks with trade contacts, professional organizations, and external sources to further develop growth opportunities.

d. Submits accurate, timely, and complete reports to Senior Management as scheduled.

e. Maintains a current knowledge of industry trends, opportunities, channels, products, and competitors to support the identification of business development opportunities.

f. Indentifies and prospects new clients through cold calling, networking, and professional contacts.

g. Builds and maintains professional relationships with potential clients.


3. Assumes responsibility for maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with Company personnel and management.

a. Works closely with other sales and marketing associates. Provides specific feedback and suggestions for improving support of channel partners.

b. Acts as a resource and support for business development by other team members.

c. Explains sales strategies and external customer needs to internal non-sales personnel when necessary.

d. Keeps management informed of area activities and of any general concerns.

e. Promotes goodwill and a positive image of the Company


Performance measurements
1. Revenue opportunities are recognized and developed with both current and potential business contracts.
2. Existing accounts are maintained or expanded and new ones developed.
3. Established objectives are met and/or exceeded in relation to sales, gross margins, and control of expenses.
4. Professional relationships and communication exist with distribution partners and end user customers.
5. Good communication and effective working relations exist with other departments.
6. Recommendations for product development, placement and promotions are made as appropriate.
7. The Company's professional reputation is projected in all sales contacts.
8. Management is appropriately informed of significant problems, area activities and competitive conditions.
Basic Qualifications:

. Bachelor's degree
. Minimum 5 years experience in sales and or marketing

Additional Qualifications:


. Bachelor's degree in a technical field and/or MBA preferred
. Experience in an industry serving the Electrical Utility, Electrical Safety, or Industrial Safety channels preferred
. Sales, marketing or product development experience in Electrical Safety PPE, NFPA70E Compliance, utility hot line tools or related industry
. Excellent Negotiation Skills: Ability to understand the customer needs, negotiate complex sales and total value offerings to customers.
. Leadership Skills: Ability to define vision for the region, set high expectations and manage to expectations.
. Strategic Planning: Ability to define the problem/issue and marketing research objectives, charter and resource marketing research effort to create winning business strategies.
. Marketing Research: Integrate competitive analysis to clearly show present and future competitive threats and opportunities. Proven ability to design competitive intelligence system.
. Customer Value Management and Pricing: Analysis of market dynamics and value chain proposition to target benefits and pricing of the product offerings.
. Able to travel frequently (50%-80%)
