Position Description: The BO/Xcelsius/WebI/ Crystal Reports Developer is a member of the Product Development team, reporting directly to the Director, Software Development. This developer will design and develop enterprise-wide data analysis and reporting solutions against data warehouse repositories. This position requires an individual with strong business acumen and the ability to communicate well and interact with business development, scientists and engineers.

Job Description/Responsibilities:
* Understand business requirements, determine implementation strategy and translate into reports that conform to reporting best practices and standards. * Gather reporting requirements, propose design solutions, create mock-ups for review, create technical design specifications and develop analytical reports using Crystal Reports, Xcelsius or Web Intelligence reporting tools. * Design and build Universes to support reports for testing and production. * Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Debug, tune and optimize report performance. * Analyze and modify existing reports as per change requests. * Assists with the implementation of Crystal and Business Objects tools against other Data warehouse/data mart architectures to support analytical reporting and/or metrics analysis. * Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff to exchange information, ideas, and answer inquiries. * Create mock-up reports for review. * Prepare time estimates for all reports developed. * Develop reports in development environment, promote through test and then to production. * Fine-tune universes and reports for performance optimization.
Required skills:
* BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field with 5-7 years of experience in required technologies. * Understands Business Objects toolset capabilities. * Understands general Data warehouse and Business Intelligence concepts, and applies them to their development and support efforts. * Participates in user requirements gathering and design documentation. * Implementation experience using various Business Objects and Crystal technologies. * Understands portal deployment and security implementation for secure report access. * Xcelcius and Crystal report integration and interactive dashboards creation. * Performance optimization. * Excellent problem solving, organizational and communications skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team, enthusiastic and able to adapt to a fast paced start-up environment. * Thorough understanding of Software Development Life cycle. * Experience working in an Agile environment preferred but not required.
